Claims Specialist

We are recruiting a Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team. Our future specialist will be responsible for investigating, researching, and facilitating claims. During the COVID-19 crisis it is possible to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Monitors cases and billing, addressing issues and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains communication with client contacts as regards claims status.
• Checks information collected from patients and medical providers concerning insurance coverage with insurance companies for accuracy.
• Takes pertinent actions in the system to route claims to the right department for processing.
• Secures bills and medical records from medical providers and transmits them to insurance companies for processing, in compliance with the standards of HIPAA and FDCPA.
• Follows up with payers, vendors and clearinghouse on open insurance claims and balances.
• Performs follow-up with clients and insurers to resolve issues.
• Keeps the proper documentation up to date .
• Resolves client inquiries and complaints.
• Keeps and protects confidentiality on all aspects of patient care information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree.
• Experience in the field or in a related area might substitute for educational requirement.
• Preferred working knowledge of ICD and CPT codes, HCPCS, HIPAA, and Medicaid.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The role is ideal for process-oriented individuals with attention to detail and excellent time management.
• Experience with using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
