Liver cancer - PFAS exposure Jones Act & FELA claims
Over 34,000 people in the US receive a liver cancer diagnosis every year. The disease is usually the result of the presence of risk factors such as cirrhosis, diabetes, excessive alcohol consumption, and fatty liver disease. However, liver cancer has recently been linked to exposure to PFAS found in workplaces where aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) is used. Exposure to PFAS can lead to the development of liver cancer, particularly if it is prolonged. Maritime workers and railroad employees who were exposed to PFAS at the workplace are at increased risk of developing liver cancer. If you worked as a seaman or railroad worker and were exposed to PFAS or other toxic substances and came to struggle with liver cancer, please contact our law firm, as we might be able to recover financial compensation for you under the Jones Act or FELA.
