As this product was already flame-resistant, asbestos was added in the mixing of insulating cement for the strength it provided to the product.
This type of insulation was one of the most hazardous asbestos-containing products. Like most cements, with the passing of tim, it started to deteriorate releasing toxic particles of asbestos every time it got disturbed by the workers. You could have been exposed if:
