Every step in the processing of food that comes on our table uses chemicals that pose danger to our health as these toxins tend to remain in our food

Most processed foods such as meat, bread, and cereals have added preservatives. Certain types of fish also have toxic chemicals called polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and heavy metals such as mercury. PCBs cause damage to the developing brain and mercury may decrease IQ levels and lead to visual or hearing impairment. Foods packed in plastic can contain phthalates and other toxins as the chemicals are able to seep from the packaging into the food. Here is a list of the most toxic fruits and vegetables:

  • apples
  • peaches
  • cherries
  • blueberries
  • pears
  • strawberries
  • bell peppers
  • celery
  • kale
  • spinach
  • lettuce
  • potatoes

A recent study reported that all of the 28 different brands of oat-based cereals and other oat-based food products prepared for children had traces of glyphosate, a constituent of common weed killer. About 26 samples contained glyphosate that exceeded the limit of 160 ppb. Unfortunately, most oatmeal, granola bars, snack bars, and oat based cereals contain high amounts of glyphosate.
