Do I qualify for compensation if I was exposed to AFFF from drinking water?

No. While exposure to AFFF from drinking water can lead to the development of serious diseases over the years, only firefighters and military personnel who worked with AFFF qualify for compensation.

Only firefighters and military personnel who were exposed to AFFF are eligible for compensation

Unfortunately, if you were exposed to the PFOA and PFOS in AFFF from drinking water, you do not qualify for compensation, as only firefighters and military personnel who regularly used the product are eligible for filing a lawsuit. Environmental Litigation Group, P.C. is not taking any drinking water cases, as we only represent firefighters and military personnel exposed to AFFF, as well as water providers alleging contaminated water with PFOS and PFOA. While it is true that you can develop disease following exposure to PFOA and PFOS from drinking water, we regret to let you know that you will not be able to recover compensation for your disease. The only exception is if you are a member of the military who drank water contaminated with PFOS and PFOA while serving over the course of several years. Thereby, if you are a firefighter or a person who is serving in the military, you can recover compensation with the help of a lawyer specialized in toxic exposure cases if you developed one of the following diseases:

Since 1990, our attorneys have been pursuing compensation for the victims of toxic exposure and their family members and will gladly help you as well. While the legal process is very complex, you will only have to thoroughly explain your situation to our attorneys and provide our legal team with documents such as your employment or military records and your medical records, which will be used as evidence of exposure and related diagnosis. We will promptly file a lawsuit with the company responsible for your injury so that you can recover the compensation you deserve as soon as possible.
